When we discovered the nature-house concept in spring 2012, we immediately liked every part of it. We had first been drawn to the Earthship idea: an off-grid house that stores solar warmth and has a greenhouse for growing food and treating wastewater, built from inexpensive materials such as old tyres and earth. We felt Sweden's climate would make such a house difficult to realise. Then we found nature houses.
A nature house offered everything we hoped for: a peaceful, ecological home with locally grown vegetables and fruit, plenty of space whenever the greenhouse temperature allowed, plants all around us, low energy use and little maintenance. In short, a house that looked after the people living in it.
An important part of the idea was showing others this way of living. As the planet becomes increasingly damaged, we need new ways to live. Locally produced food, wastewater treatment that reuses nutrients and houses that produce their own energy were examples of the changes we felt were needed. We therefore planned to hold tours for people interested in the house.

Naturhus ger allt vi ville ha. Ett lugnt, ekologiskt boende med närproducerade grönsaker och frukter, stor yta så snart temperaturen i växthuset tillåter, mycket växter omkring oss, låg energiförbrukning, lite underhåll. Kort sagt ett hus som tar hand om de boende.
En viktig del av boendet är att visa för andra detta sätt att bo. Iom att jorden blir mer och mer förstörd krävs nya sätt att leva. Närproducerad mat, avloppsrening som faktiskt använder näringen igen, hus som skapar egen energi är exempel på saker som måste till i framtiden. Vi planerar därför att ha visningar för att visa upp huset för intresserade.
