The garage slab is finished. On Thursday, we installed the reinforcement: first the 12 mm edge-beam bars,
then mesh on spacers to keep it at the right height.
There is extra reinforcement under the column.
We reinforced the door openings and tied everything together. Ready for concrete!
The concrete arrived on Friday morning. We checked the levels and vibrated it to remove trapped air.
The concrete was warm so that it could start curing properly in the cold.
Building is exciting. The concrete truck came from Luja.
We levelled and power-floated the surface, first with a pan and then with blades. The edges had to be finished by hand.
Once we were satisfied, we put on the tarpaulin cover. The slab can now cure until the garage arrives.
We solved the service-building position problem with Simplex: three propellant cartridges made short work of the rock. No new drawings or planning amendment needed.
As the photograph suggests, a small lake had formed in the service-building excavation. To stop it freezing, we dug a trench for drainage and ground-air pipes. The idea is to cool incoming air in summer and warm it in winter using the more stable ground temperature a few metres down. Ideally, the air pipes should sit below the drainage, so we need to work out how to manage that. Almost the entire plot has now been dug up or re-dug.
Tor-Björn also demolished what remained of the trailer—easy work for the excavator. The chassis seems sound, so we will see what becomes of it.

Sen på med armeringsmattor och fötter så mattorna ligger i rätt höjd i den färdiga plattan.
Extra armering där pelaren kommer ner. Därefter sattes förstärkning i dörröppningarna och allt najades ihop. Klart för gjutning!
På fredag morgon kom betongen. Nivåkoll och vibrering så inga luftbubblor blir kvar i betongen.
Varm betong så den ska hinna börja brinna ordentligt när det är kallt.

Utjämning och glättning med helikopter, först med tallrik sen med vingar. I kanterna får man glätta manuellt. När vi var nöjda drog vi på presenningstäcket så plattan får brinna tills garaget levereras.
Problemet med teknikhusplaceringen löste vi med Simplex, tre krutpatroner som gjorde processen kort med stenen. Nu slipper vi fixa nya ritningar och begära ändring av lovet.
Som anas ovan hade det hunnit bli en liten sjö i gropen där teknikhuset hamnar. För att inte riskera att det fryser så grävde vi ett dike. Här blir det dräneringsslang sedan samt markrör för lite extra ventilation. Luft sugs in genom den vilken kyls på sommaren och värms upp på vintern iom att marken alltid håller liknande temperatur några meter ner i jorden. Ett litet problem är att vi borde få ner markrören djupare än dräneringen, får se hur vi löser det. Nu är nästan hela tomten uppgrävd eller omgrävd.
Tor-Björn passade på att riva det som var kvar av vagnen, lätt med grävaren. Chassit verkar funka ok, får se vad som blir av det.
