Drivadan assembled much of the greenhouse in about a week. Unfortunately, Kim was bruised by falling glass panes, and they had to stop and go home. They return this week to finish. For now, with one gable still missing, we have a huge amphitheatre and an amazing view.
Recently, we have concentrated on the garage, carrying logs and assembling almost the whole frame. We also had to move a lot of timber to make room for its column. Fortunately, Drivadan has finished working on the house slab, so we have begun moving timber inside.
Our amphitheatre: glass is installed along the lower south and north sides and across almost all the west gable.
Saga tries our front door.
The garage grows.
An old canoe trolley and a few pieces of wood make a perfect log cart. It is easy to move the heavy logs. Those for the garage and house weigh up to about 60 kg. The garage logs are thinner, but the longest are seven metres; the house logs seem to reach five metres. The long ridge beam, about 140 kg, travelled well on it too.

Tomas drives in a dowel. Dowels go in alternate holes to tie the logs together and stabilise the wall. On the next course, they go in the holes left unused below.
There is a view from the garage now: the greenhouse in all its glory. Sadly, some birds have died against the glass, so we hung horticultural fleece to make the wall visible. I think they enter through the missing gable and hit the glass from inside. The fleece blew down quite quickly, but we have not found more dead birds yet. Hopefully, that continues. This evening, house martins made a few flights through the greenhouse, which was nerve-racking.
One gable is nearly ready for the ridge beam.
It is quite high—there should be good storage space.
House timber is reaching the slab, sorted and ready to stack.
One pack moved from the garage slab to the house slab. It is stacked more loosely so it can cope better with a little moisture. We can remove the tarpaulin whenever the weather is fine. It will be even better when the glass roof is finished. Each pack weighs about two tonnes.
We lifted another pack onto a stack in the garage so the column could be installed.
The gable, wall between the doors and column are ready.
Time to raise the large ridge beam, weighing over 140 kg. I rigged a winch to pull it up two timber rails. The electric winch worked well: Linda operated it while I guided the beam. We added stops along the way for safety.

The ridge beam and upper section of the column are in place. A little adjustment remains, using the threaded rod and nuts where the column sections meet.

Next come the beams between the ridge and walls, then the roof. The doors are ordered, but the factory's summer holiday means they will not arrive until August.

En gammal kanotvagn med lite träbitar blev en perfekt vagn för stockarna. Lätt att flytta de tunga stockarna. Stockarna till garaget och huset ligger på högst ca 60 kg. Garaget är av mindre dimension men de längsta stockarna är 7 meter långa, huset verkar ha max 5 m. Den långa nockbalken på ca 140 kg funkade bra också.

Tomas drar i en dymling. De sitter i vartannat hål för att hålla ihop stockarna och stabilisera väggen. Nästa skift sätter man dymlingar i de hålen som inte fick några i varvet innan.
Man börjar få lite utsikt från garaget nu, växthuset i all sin prakt. Dessvärre hade glaset tagit livet av några fåglar så vi spände upp odlingsväv så väggen ska synas. Jag tror de flyger in i växthuset iom att ena gaveln inte är på plats och krockar på insidan. Väven blåste ner ganska snabbt men än har inte några fler döda fåglar hittats, hoppas det håller i sig. Ikväll flög hussvalorna genom växthuset några varv, lite nervöst.

Hustimret börjar hitta till plattan! Sorterat och redo att staplas.
Ett paket flyttat från garageplattan till husplattan. Lite luftigare staplat också så det förhoppningsvis klarar lite väta bättre. Lätt att dra av presenningen så snart vädret är bra. Ännu bättre när glastaket är på plats. Ca 2 ton timmer per paket.
Ett paket till upplyft på ett annat i garaget så pelaren kunde sättas på plats.

Dags att få upp stora nockbalken, 140 kg+. Har riggat en vinsch som drar den upp längs de två reglarna. Smidigt med elektrisk vinsch, Linda körde och jag styrde balken. Några stopp skruvades fast då och då för säkerhets skull.
